polarclimate2020 conference organized by CCCR team

2021-06-01

The organizing committee invites abstracts for the 3rd International Conference on “Polar Climate and Environmental Change in the Last Millennium.” This hybrid conference will take place 30 August-1 September 2021 online and in Toruń, Poland.

The aim of the conference is to present scientific achievements and to identify gaps in the field of the historical climatology of the polar regions based on early meteorological observations, history, dendroclimatology, paleolimnology, geophysics, geomorphology, and other sources.

According to the need for protection attendees, the organizing committee has changed the venue to the large hall located in the Nicolaus Copernicus University campus. All safety procedures preventing SARS-CoV-2 infections will be preserved and align with the Nicolaus Copernicus University internal safety policies.

The committee has also proposed new deadline dates for registration and submitting abstracts. Both deadlines are now 31 July 2021. However, registration and abstract submission deadline for financial support is Sunday, 20 June 2021.

Despite our best wishes, we have to postpone the 3rd International Conference on 'Polar Climate and Environmental Change in the Last Millennium' once again.

The planned new term is the 30th August - 1st September 2021.

Important dates were also rescheduled.

Our decision was made in response to the 2nd wave of COVID-19 crisis and guided by Nicolaus Copernicus University's internal safety policies.

Stay safe and healthy!

Hope to see you in better times,
polarclimate2020 Committee
